Question:
Which girl group has recorded “Be my baby”?
Answer:
All of the following are examples of girl groups except The Drifters. The Drifters are a group of doo-wop and R&B/soul singers from the United States. In 1953, they started out as a backup band for Clyde McPhatter, who had been the lead tenor for Billy Ward and his Dominoes. The second group of Drifters, led by Ben E. King and formed in 1959, used to be a new band called The Five Crowns. After 1965, people came and went from both groups, and many of them went on to form other Drifters groups. Several Drifters bands can trace their roots back to these first groups, but they don’t have many or any of the original members.
